Atlanta based aerospace R&D firm Earthly Dynamics (EDC) announces Mark Costello has taken the helm as its full time Chief Executive Officer. Earthly Dynamics provides hardware and software technologies supporting air vehicle autonomy and automation functions for the aerospace community. The company develops next generation smart parachutes and parafoils for use in guided cargo airdrop, aircraft recovery, and spacecraft sample-return missions. They also have pioneered in-canopy bleed air actuation and sensing paired with parafoil adaptive control that has enabled new levels of flight performance and landing accuracy.
“EDC has a tremendous team, all working together to provide new technology solutions for national defense,” Costello said. “It’s really an honor to lead EDC during this period of growth in a very dynamic and rapidly changing aerospace field.”
Prior to his role at EDC, Costello held an appointment as the Chair of Georgia Tech’s Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering. Costello also previously served as a Program Manager in the Tactical Technology Office at DARPA.
